04/07/08 - The NYU Mock Trial Team placed fourth in the country at Nationals this past weekend, hosted by Hamiline University. All rounds of competition were held at the Hennepin County Government Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Finishing with a record of 6 Wins and 2 Losses, NYU faced difficult competition, including the 2008 National Champions, The University of Maryland, the 2007 National Champions, University of Virginia, as well as Duke University and Drake University. The team would like to thank The George Washington University, UC Berkeley and Harvard College for pre-round scrimmages. NYU was proud to send all competing members from three teams to attend the National Championship. All team members were able to come and watch their teammates compete. NYU looks forward to continued success in the upcoming season.

This was the third consecutive year that NYU has placed in the Top Ten at the National Championship Tournament.

04/07/08 - NYU freshman Co'Relous Bryant finished off a remarkable rookie campaign with a Double All-American Award: a perfect 20 ranks on the prosecution and 18 ranks on the defense. Bryant became only the second student in NYU Mock Trial history to win a Double All-American Award -- the first since Matt Shahabian in 2006. "This was a great opportunity. It shows how hard work, great leadership and mentoring could pay off. This isn't the end though. Our finish was great this year, but we want the real prize next year," said Bryant. The Jacksonville native tore up the circuit this year, winning awards at six consecutive tournaments. National accolade, however, is not new for Bryant. In 2007, Bryant won the National High School Oratorical Championship and delivered his final speech in front of President George Bush. Bryant will be teaching at Lead America, a mock trial camp, this summer.
